When to Service My Cadillac CT5?

After you’ve bought a Cadillac CT5, you are probably rightly excited about all of the exciting driving in front of you. Whether you have a new or used CT5, you can rest easy that your vehicle is among the best on the market today.
Of course, to maximize the value out of your investment, you need to stick to Cadillac’s maintenance schedule. By maintaining your Cadillac by bringing it to a Cadillac service center, you can ensure it’ll last as long as you need it to, and fetch a good trade-in when you’re ready to upgrade.
We’ve outlined a basic Cadillac CT5 maintenance schedule below. Of course, you should always refer to your owner’s manual, or talk to the experts at a Cadillac dealer service center, to see what procedures your Cadillac needs.
Monthly Maintenance
At least once monthly, you should check the tire inflation pressures, inspect the tires for wear, and check the windshield washer fluid level to ensure you can clean your windshield when needed. The tires should be inflated to the pressure indicated on the tire sidewall, and their tread should pass the “quarter test.”
The quarter test is an easy way to tell if your tires’ treads are worn out, or if they still have some mileage on them. Take a quarter and put it in the tread of your tire, upside down. If you can see the top of George Washington’s head, you should replace the tire as soon as you can. Otherwise, you have some more time.

Oil Changes
Your Cadillac CT5 employs an Engine Oil Life System, which monitors the quality of your engine oil and will display a CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message when the oil and filter need to be changed within 600 miles. If you drive your Cadillac under ideal conditions, you might not need to change the oil but once a year; however, make sure to change the oil and filter at least once a year, even if the light doesn’t come on.
If the oil life system is reset by accident, or if it fails, you’ll want to service your Cadillac every 3,000 miles or so in order to keep the engine oil in the best shape. Replacing the engine oil is among the most important service tasks you can perform for your car, since oil keeps all the other parts running smoothly.

Every 7,500 Miles
After driving your CT5 for 7,500 miles, check the oil level and oil life percentage, especially if you haven’t changed the oil yet. If needed, change the engine oil and filter, and reset the oil life system.
If your Cadillac has an air filter life system, check the percentage it gives back to you, and replace the engine air filter if needed. If the vehicle isn’t equipped with the engine air filter life system, inspect the filter manually, replacing if necessary.
Check fluid levels in the engine coolant, windshield washer, and brake system. Also inspect tires for wear, and visually check for fluid leaks. Finally, inspect the steering, suspension, and chassis components for damage, including the rubber boots, loose or missing parts, or signs of wear.
